Battle of the Badges coming back this year

The Battle of the Badges is returning for its second annual charity hockey game.

Friday, January 29th was the ceremonial puck drop at City Hall, gearing up for the upcoming game, which pits Lloydminster’s bravest against one another: the Fire Department taking on members of the Lloydminster RCMP.

This year will be the first year of the event with the name change to reflect the game it is in memory of Todd Gustavson. Gustavson served with the Lloydminster Fire Department for 37 years, including 17 as Chief. He passed away suddenly in April of last year.

The game will take place Sunday, February 21st at the Centennial Civic Centre. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the RCMP Detachmen, (the Public Safety Office) or at City Hall, and all proceeds go to Big Brothers & Big Sisters Lloydminster and Citizens on Patrol.
