The Lloydminster RCMP have dealt with a report of a man armed with a firearm near the Lloydminster Outdoor Pool.
According to numerous reports on social media, a man was spotted in the area with what appeared to be a firearm around 2:00 p.m. After this report went into the police, the RCMP went to the area, and residents in vicinity of the incident were asked to remain in place. The police found that the firearm was a BB gun, and the male was also found.
The situation is now resolved. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

A press release sent out by the local detachment at around 5:30 p.m. has confirmed details of the prior report. According to the release, the local detachment received a report of a man walking with a firearm around 1:30 p.m. in the area of 45 Street and 55 Avenue.
After arriving, officers searched the area and located a 16 year old who confirmed that he was walking with a BB gun earlier.  RCMP said they took all the necessary precautions to ensure the public’s safety during the incident. The police also extended their thanks to the public who were patient with police as the investigation took place. No one was injured during the incident, and no charges are expected to be laid.
