Lloydminster man convicted on numerous charges

A man has been convicted following numerous charges laid.

Back in January of this year, the Lloydminster RCMP released information indicating that Jimmy-Lee Maclean was facing numerous property crime, drug trafficking, and weapons charges.

On January 21, 2016, a search rendered stolen property, including a trailer, which had the Vehicle Identification Number illegally altered. The initial search warrant led to a second warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, which resulted in police finding substantial quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, along with a stolen .22 handgun with silencer.

This past week, on Thursday, September 22, Maclean was sentenced to 4 years and 7 months custody for his different charges.

At the time of the search, both Jimmy-Lee MacLean (31) and Chereise Morris (29), both of Lloydminster, were arrested without incident at the residence.

Constable Grant Kirzinger says, “Fentanyl is a very deadly drug. The Lloydminster RCMP will continue to focus on the selling of this drug, and continue to focus on those individuals bringing it into our community.”

MacLean and Morris were facing numerous charges including Possession of property obtained by crime, Possession of a prohibited firearm knowing it was stolen, Possession of a prohibited device (silencer), Possessing weapons contrary to a Firearms Prohibition, Failing to comply with court conditions, and three charges of Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

As well, MacLean and Morris were subjects of a search warrant executed on both a storage locker and their residence back in September of 2015. At which time, stolen ATVs, a dirtbik,e and a generator were recovered as a result. However, the pair was released on bail on court imposed conditions at the time.
