Family safe after east end fire

A family in the Border City are safe in their home today, after the building suffered minor damages in a house fire.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Brad Martin, the Lloydminster Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire near the intersection of 31 Street and 45 Avenue, shortly after 8 a.m.

Once firefighters arrived, they found that there was a fire on the exterior of the house. The homeowners had succeeded in getting the fire “mostly knocked down” and the firefighters followed up by extinguishing hot spots and ventilating the interior of the structure to air out smoke.

All residents of the house were accounted for by the fire department upon their arrival to the scene, and no injuries were reported from the scene. They will be able to stay in their house.

The fire crews left the scene at 8:45 a.m.
