Construction has begun on housing project in Maidstone

A new housing development has kicked off construction in Maidstone. McConnell Place will be four single family homes for entry level homebuyers, and will come with self-contained, finished, legal two-bedroom basement suites. Each home is priced at $325,000 and is covered with new home warranty protection. The Saskatchewan government has kicked in 920 thousand dollars in construction financing to the developer  through the Headstart Program. HeadStart was announced in March 2011 to finance construction of entry-level homes in Saskatchewan. Builders and developers are eligible for construction loans of 90 per cent on the construction cost of the homes including land, at an interest rate of four per cent.
