Lakeland students enter skills competition

A skills competition will be held at the Lakeland College campus in Vermilion May 2nd. Skills Canada features the talents of Alberta’s high school trade and technology students with over 60 high school students from area schools gathering in the Trades Centre on the Vermilion campus to compete. There will be nine competition categories: auto service, electrical installation, carpentry, cabinet making, culinary arts, hairstyling, TV/video production, welding and new this year baking. Top performers from the regional competitions, will then move on to compete in Edmonton at Skills Alberta. Gold medalists will become a part of Team Alberta and compete at Skills Canada, the national competition in Toronto in June.
