The City of Cold Lake has turned to Calgary in its search for buses for its planned transit system. The city is considering buying six used 40-passenger buses from Calgary Transit to comprise its transit system – to launch later this year. The cost of the buses will come in at a fraction of the $200,000 capital budget allowance to purchase just two buses for the start of a transit system. Cold Lake’s Chief Operating Officer Kevin Nagoya says that six buses are more than the city needs, but that a fleet that size offers flexibility in the level of service the city can provide.
