Bobcats Sign Two Defencemen

Bobcats have signed two defencemen, Andrew Liwiski and Zach Ziegler for the upcoming season.

Liwiski is from Dauphin, Manitoba. He was born in 1999, is 5’11” and 173 lbs. He just finished up his minor hockey league career in the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League, getting 39 points in 39 games.

Liwiski says, “it was kind of a hard decision at first. I had been talking with other good teams in Saskatchewan and Manitoba but I feel Alberta and more specifically Lloydminster was my best option to improve as a player and compete for a championship. I’m extremely excited to be joining such a historic organization for the next three seasons, as I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Bobcats and the City of Lloydminster. I’m hoping we can continue to build and be very competitive this upcoming season.”

Ziegler is from White City, Saskatchewan. Also born in 1999, Ziegler also produced well in his final season with the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, getting 31 points in 39 games.

Ziegler says, “signing in Lloydminster is what my family and I felt would be best for me and for my development as a hockey player. I think that I will have every opportunity to grow as a player and as a person, which will help me get to the next level of hockey. I’m very excited to join the Bobcats, it’s a great organization and I think we can build something really special in Lloydminster in the next couple of seasons. I can’t wait to be a part of it!”

Coach Travis Clayton says he is excited to be adding the pair to the line up.
