Two Men Charged After Allegedly Pointing Gun Inside Local Business

Two Edmonton men have been charged after allegedly pointing a gun inside a local business last Wednesday. RCMP say they responded to a call around 1:30 a.m. in the 6600 block of 43 street with reports of a man who reportedly pointed a gun at the business manager.
When RCMP arrived they took two men into custody without incident. Police located a handgun and 13.5 grams of cocaine inside the business.
Thirty-one year old Ahmed Mohamed has been charged with:
  • Eight firearms offences
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Mischief
  • Two breach charges
Twenty-six year old Mohamed Yusuf has been charged with:
  • Eight firearms offences
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Obstruction
  • Failure to comply
Both men appeared before a Justice of the Peace. Yusuf was remanded in custody while Ahmed was released on bail. They will appear in Alberta Provincial Court on July 4.
