Colonial Days officially gets underway tomorrow!
It will be kicked off with the parade at 10. This year the route was extended and updated from original plans. People are advised to get set up early to make sure they have a spot.
Events throughout the week at the Grandstand include:
- Brown’s Industrial Sales Monsters and Mayhem Monster Truck and Tuff Truck Show-Wednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.
- Alyssa Reid-Wednesday at 9 p.m.
- Prism and Helix-Thursday at 9 p.m.
- Bulls and Bikes Show-Friday at 6 p.m.
- Cold Creek County-Friday at 9 p.m.
- Demo Derby-Saturday at noon
- Charlie Major-Saturday at 9 p.m.
The Bulls and Bike Show is a new addition this year and there will be a sneak peak at 3 p.m on Friday.
“The bulls are going to be the stars. This whole show goes to Canadian bucking bull development. The two year old bulls at three o’clock will buck with remote control dummies on. In the evening, we have the three year old classic,” says Mike Sydoruk, the General Manager of the Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association.
He adds, “it’s a BRC sanctioned event and we’ll have some great riding and then for more excitement we’ll have a freestyle motorcycle jump show, that will be jumping along with the bulls.”
As well for the Grandstand, there will be a bar service available once again.
“We started last year with that and people really enjoyed it and we’ll continue,” says Sydoruk.
There will also be a Kid’s Zone and Country Lane featuring events such as:
- Magician
- Petting Zoo
- Tractor Pull
As well, there multiple agriculture shows throughout the weekend.
Make sure to bring your hunger, as there will be multiple vendors selling food. Some highlights according to Sydoruk are:
- The Gourmet Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich
- The Apple Butter Barbecued Chicken Sandwich
- Gourmet Turkey Schnitzel Burger
“This fair is for our whole community and region. It’s for absolutely everyone, all ages, all walks of life. There is something here for absolutely everyone. With over 150 events and activities and performances here, there’s something for everyone,” adds Sydoruk.
Gates open at 8 a.m., the midway get’s going at noon and goes until midnight. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
The whole week wraps up with fireworks on Saturday at 11:30 p.m.
