Lloydminster is seeing a rise in housing starts for the second quarter in a row according to the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
In the third quarter there were 24 housing starts in Lloydminster, compared to last year’s third quarter which saw 14 starts. The Alberta side saw a total of nine starts, which is on par with last year’s third quarter. The Saskatchewan side saw a total of 15 starts which is up 10 from last year’s third quarter.
Year-to-date, Lloydminster has had 10 more housing starts than last year, bringing the total housing starts to 57. On the Alberta side, the total number of housing starts dropped by six to 24 starts. On the Saskatchewan side, the total increased by 16 to a total of 33 starts.
