Monday marks the beginning of Waste Reduction week and the city is encouraging residents to help out.
The week long national campaign is designed to educate about responsible and sustainable consumption and to help you reduce your environmental footprint. The city is also encouraging you to take the “Food Waste Pledge” and try to have as a little food waste in your home.
“Waste is an area where nearly every Canadian can improve, by taking this pledge, we hope citizens will be inspired to be greener and more efficient in their daily lives,” says Mayor Gerald Aalbers.
