Neilburg referee to receive Hockey Canada Ambassador award

Neilburg minor hockey referee Paul Rutherford will be recognized by Hockey Canada for his commitment to his community and the sport of Hockey.

President of the Neilburg Recreation Board Riley Perkins says Rutherford was chosen for the award because of his long career in minor hockey.

“He’s been playing and coaching for many years, but he’s been reffing and officiating for over 50 years now.”

Perkins says Rutherford will be honoured as part of Minor Hockey Day in Neilburg.
