Six more deaths from the flu in the central zone

Six more people have died from influenza since January 11 in the central zone, which Lloydminster is a part of.

The January 25th Alberta Health Services statistics show a total of eight deaths since the beginning of flu season in the central zone and 126 people being hospitalized.

So far 2,012 people province-wide have been put in hospital by the flu. The Calgary zone saw the highest with 894. Edmonton had 657, the North zone saw 184 and 151 in the South zone.

1,186,548 flu shots have been given out in Alberta since November, with 107,085 in the central zone.
