Cold Lake RCMP recover $75,000 worth of stolen property

Eight people are facing numerous criminal charges after Cold Lake RCMP executed a search warrant on Cold Lake First Nation.

RCMP investigated a complaint that lead them to a residence where stolen property was left in plain sight including several trucks, a car, military uniforms, ATV, tires and a Honda generator. RCMP also found a small amount of cocaine and bear spray at the residence.

A total of 56 Criminal Code Charges have been laid involving eight people, 28-year old Whisper Collins and 47-year old Calvin Jacknife, 19-year old Laine Martial-Solway all from Cold Lake. As well as 19-year old Cody Spence from Edmonton, 31-year old Nathan Waskewitch of Onion Lake, 23-year old Samantha Gadwa from Bonnyville and two others who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Charges laid include possessing property obtained by crime and one for breach of a Conditional Sentence Order.

They will all appear in court February 14 in Cold Lake.
