An extreme cold warning has been issued for Lloydminster and area, including Wainwright, Provost and Vermilion.
Temperatures are expected to drop to minus 41 tonight and stay there into Monday morning. Environment Canada warns people to cover up and watch for symptoms of frostbite and hypothermia, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
They also warn that children, older people and people outside for long periods run a higher risk, and should take breaks indoors whenever possible. Residents should also bring their pets inside.
