Lloydminster RCMP wants to hear residents’ concerns

The Lloydminster RCMP is hoping to gather insight into issues facing the community through their annual survey.

The nine question survey can be done by any resident, and RCMP Constable Grant Kirzinger says that the survey helps better develop crime reduction stratigies with the community.

“At the beginning of each fiscal year, we are required to come up with strategic priorities, putting emphasis on certain aspects of policing. This survey will help us understand what the community believes to be some of those priorities, or the issues that the community is facing.”

Police in Lloydminster have done the survey for a few years now, and Kirzinger says the RCMP has seen feedback from Lloydminster residents.

“In the past we’ve definitely seen some trends where people are concerned about. Illicit or organized crimes, sale of illicit drugs and then property crime as well seems to be one of which which effects quite a few different people inside of the city.”

The Lloydminster RCMP opened the survey Wednesday, and it can be filed out anonymously on their online survey page.
