North Battleford pursuit results in two arrests

Two youth have been arrested and several guns recovered after a police chase in North Battleford.

Early Thursday morning police received a call about a break and enter at a rural home in Denholm. Upon arriving, they found that the suspects had allegedly made off with several guns including high powered hunting rifles. The suspects’ vehicle was later seen speeding by RCMP, who followed it out the north end of the city.

Once outside the city, police attempted to pull over the vehicle, which sped north on Highway 4. The RCMP chased the suspects, while one RCMP car moved ahead of the suspects vehicle to slow it down. The suspect’s car then rear-ended the police car, causing it to stop. The vehicle was severely damaged, but no one was hurt.

Two young suspects were arrested and guns matching the ones stolen at Denholm were recovered.They are currently still in police custody as the investigation continues.
