Four new family physicians are practicing in Lloydminster as part of Saskatchewan’s International Physician Practice Assessment. The program tests International Medical Graduates on their education and abilities before allowing them to practice medicine. The latest round of graduates has resulted in twenty new doctors in the province, and more than 160 since the program began in 2011. The province also says that 16 new students from the January intake are finishing their clinical field assessments and could start practicing in the province this spring.
