Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the City, as well as Vermilion, Provost and Wainwright.
15 to 25 centimeters of snow is expected to fall between now and Sunday. Also, occasional blowing snow is expected to continue today and Friday as a strong system pushes the snow towards the central area that houses Lloydminster.
The snow will be accompanied by strong winds that will reduce visibility on highways. Environment Canada encourage drivers to postpone travel plans until road conditions improve. They also say the snow and blowing snow will last until Sunday morning.
