Lloydminster area sees unemployment drop

Unemployment has dropped in the Lloydminster area, according to the latest StatsCan report.

In the region that houses Lloydminster, unemployment has gone from 4.9 per cent at the end of January to 4.1 at the end of February. This continues the drop trend from 6 per cent at the end of 2017.

In Alberta as a whole, employment has risen 2 per cent, with education, health care and social assistance seeing the largest gains. In Saskatchewan, employment had a very slight 0.5 per cent drop overall.

On the National scale, unemployment is at 5.8 percent, a 0.1 per cent drop. B.C had the lowest unemployment at 4.7 per cent, and Newfoundland had the highest, at 14 percent.
