The Lloydminster Reapers Rugby team is back in action, and they’re looking for new players to join the crew this season.
The team competes in the Edmonton league, which has teams from all over Northern Alberta duking it out for the championship. Men compete under the Division III Edmonton banner, and the women’s team combines with the Cold Lake Penguins in Division II.
Josh Dickson with the Lloydminster Reapers says they are looking to expand before the start of the season.
“It’s the Reapers, and our team is never really exactly set. We’re always looking for new players, men and women, we’ll definetly train you as to what goes on in Rugby even if you want to just come out and see what it’s all about.”
Dickson adds that now is a good time to join, as the team just starts to get training underway.
“Our schedule is still getting looked at, we’re possible looking at getting another team or two into the league this year. We don’t have a permanent schedule yet but we’re looking to start the season here in May.”
