Retiring member had major impact for Lloydminster health: LRHF

The Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation is honouring Dave Schneider as he retires from their board this month.

Schneider has been a director with the board for twelve years, and during that time he helped spearhead initiatives like Health First! It’s Everything, which brought in four million dollars to expand the Lloydminster Hospital’s emergency room and get new diagnostic equipment and the Pioneer House project, which brought 44 new beds to the seniors home in Lloydminster.

Senior Medical Officer for Lloydminster Doctor Kevin Govender says that the hospital is better off because of the efforts of people like Schneider.

“Dave’s work with the Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation has done tremendous work at the hospital. Tremendous improvements with regards to facilitating programs at the hospital. Without Dave and the LRHF we would not be able to provide several of the services we have running the hospital right now.”

When asked about what it meant for him to receive the recognition, Schneider says he never expected to receive it.

“It’s not my impact. It’s our board, our staff’s impact. We do a lot of enhancements to our hospital that probably wouldn’t have been done without the help of the donors of the foundation.”

Scheider adds that he will stay on the board of directors for The Olive Tree, but he is ready to pass the torch to new faces in the LRHF.
