Local car buffs coming together to help out Youth Centre

The Lloydminster Motor Club hopes their annual spring opener will make an impact for the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre.

The car club will be having their first get-together and car show of the season this Sunday. Head Honcho of the Lloydminster Motor Club Randy Marsh says that on top of being a car show, the event hopes to raise funds to help out the Lloydminster Youth Centre.

“I’ve been hearing that they are grossly underfunded, and we always like to help out as much as we can. We’ve helped out the Goat’s Christmas Wish, we’ve helped I Love Alberta Boobs, Movember and the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter. It’s always nice to give back to these programs that can use the help.”

Marsh says that the event will have donation boxes around for visitors, and will also see the money from cars registering to be part of the show go to the Centre too.  Marsh adds that anyone who has a vehicle they want to show off can join in.

“I think what kind of sets the Lloydminster Motor Club aside from anyone else is we’re not really concerned about what kind of car you drive. If you have a sweet car than sweet, but we’re more interested in learning about who’s behind the steering wheel.”

The LMC Spring Opener is Sunday May 6th from 2 to 5 at the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre building.
