A new face will be looking over the City’s finances. Chief Financial Officer Denise MacDonald was hired last week and comes to Lloydminster with 22 years of experience in finance.
“I have been in the municipal world for a little over 20 years as a director of finance and I’m coming to the City of Lloydminster bringing that experience with me.”
MacDonald will manage City budgets and year-end financial statements. She says that she is still new to the job and will continue to absorb all the information.
“It is a new position so I’m looking forward to learning how things are operating currently and making things better, more efficient and under the advice of council carrying out their strategic plan.”
MacDonald had her first sit in on Council last Monday during the discussion on finalizing the tax increase for residents.
“I was excited that Council had really good discussion and there’s a really strong Council, they’re very knowledgeable and a good professional background. I’m quite excited to work with them.”
MacDonald is planning to work on the City’s 2019 budget this summer.
