Lloydminster RCMP are on the lookout for speeders.

The RCMP’s monthly traffic focus in April is speeding, working in conjunction with SGI’s traffic focus schedule.

The RCMP says that when the roads are clearer, motorists tend to go faster. However, they urge drivers to slow down and obey posted speed limits, to keep pedestrians safe. They also say that gravel on the roads can result in lost traction, making an accident more likely.

“Speed kills,” said Constable Grant Kirzinger.  “The difference in time to get somewhere in the city limits changes very little when you speed. People are encouraged to plan ahead and expect traffic delays as road construction increases.”
