The Brittania-Wilton Fire Department’s 23rd Annual Firefighter’s Ball was a success.
The ball was held Saturday, April 11, at the Stockade, featuring live music, a dance, and door prizes.
The ball is held to recognize members of the volunteer fire department for their service, and to raise money for charity. The Fire Department says $1,000Â is donated to a scholarship at Hillmond School, $500 is given to Students against Destructive Decisions, and the rest is given to a family in the community that is in need.
Department officials say that the plans for next year’s ball will be even bigger, with some members receiving awards for 20 and 25 years of service.
