North Battleford airport to see upgrades to runway

North Battleford is one of the cities that will benefit from the Community Airport Partnership (CAP) program.

The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $700,000 in cost-shared grants to 12 community airports in the province that need upgrades and repairs to be done. Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit says they are pleased to partner with the communities in order to maintain their local airports.

“Community and regionally-owned airports support vital services like air ambulance, law enforcement and firefighting,”

The North Battleford airport runway will be rehabilitated for $275,000. The R.M. of Eldon will also have their airport updated with their runway, taxiway and apron crack ceiling, fog seals and line painting at a cost of $40,966.

Other airports part of the CAP program include, Melfort, Weyburn and Moose Jaw.
