Minor league players can skate with Lloydminster Bobcats this summer

Minor hockey players will have the chance to skate and learn with the Lloydminster Bobcats this summer.

The team has opened up registration for their Summer Hockey Camps, which will run first on August 13th to 16th and a second camp, which will run from August 20th to 23rd. Both camps will be open to all levels of players from Initiation to Peewee.

Lloydminster Bobcats Business Manager Kat Pollard says joining the camp gives players a chance to learn fundamental skills with the help of Coach Travis Clayton and current Bobcats players.

“The students get to go out on the ice and they learn different skills. They do both on-ice skills, which is drills with skating, stick-handling, puck handling, all that kind of stuff. Then they also do dry land training as well. So they make it a fun environment, but the kids also get a chance to learn from some of their idols.”

Pollard adds that the skills developed through the program can be utilized to take players to the next level of hockey.

“It does help the kids definitely with their hockey skills so when they get to those higher levels. If the drive is there, then they have those base skills that they got in Initiation, Novice, Atom, or Peewee to take them through their whole hockey career.”

Players interested in joining the camp can get in touch online, by phone or by visiting the Bobcats office.
