6th annual Last Laugh event keeps the LCHS drama department going

The laughs really won’t end at Lloyminster comprehensive high school.

This marks the sixth year the LCHS drama department has a fundraiser to keep the program going. Tonight will feature Donovan Workun from Atomic Improv, music from Leif Ingebrigsten of rapid-fire theatre and Scott Patey, Andrew Barber and Angela Galanopoulos of Vancouver Theatresports League.

Scott Pasey member of the Vancouver Theatresports is from Lloydminster and linked together with former schoolmate and current LCHS drama teacher Simon Stang six years ago to throw the event.

“I moved to Vancouver when I turned 18 to pursue acting, film and television and I do improv comedy out there. I started bringing some friends last year we had Colin Mochrie down which was a blast, this year we have a couple friends from Edmonton.”

Pasey recalls a story from last years event when they offered tickets to anyone who would make them a nice meal. It turned out that Nitro Circus was in the city too and the family thought that’s who they were having over.

“When we got to the Barbecue the guy looked at me head to toe and said ‘what do you do? you a mechanic’ and I got oh no this guy thinks we’re dirt bike people.”

Hilarity is sure to ensue tonight with some improv comedy at the Vic Juba. Tickets are $30 each for adults and $25 for students.
