City asking residents to submit damage reports after storm

Damages from the flooding that took place over the weekend are now being assessed by the City for a potential claim.

The storm that swept parts of Lloydminster and surrounding areas is being looked at by the City as they ask residents for information on the extent of damage caused to homes, vehicles, yards and the like.

The report includes the name, address, phone number and description of the damage, along with an estimate of the repairs. All the information collected will go towards a claim to Alberta’s Disaster Recovery Program and Saskatchewan’s Provincial Disaster Assistance Recovery Program.

The City isn’t making any guarantees on people receiving financial assistance for their damages. However, properties affected by the storm should keep a record of the damages and the receipts of any repairs, as well as calling their insurance company to assess coverage.

If damages are not being covered by insurance, residents should fill out a form on the City’s website.
