More funding for Alberta’s universities
The province has upped funding to Alberta’s post secondary institutions. The $32.5 million increase will add 2,000 new spaces to the Campus Alberta system to increase access to high-demand programs such as engineering, environmental science and occupational therapy in the upcoming year. This will create access for almost 1,200 more students in 2014-15 and increase to 2,700 students in these high demand programs by 2017-18. An additional $12.3 million in new or expanded programs at 19 post-secondary institutions.
