Lloydminster RCMP charge five people for kidnapping, extortion

Five people have been charged after kidnapping and extortion in Lloydminster.

On the afternoon of Thursday, April 16, Lloydminster RCMP received a report of a woman who had been kidnapped and was being held against her will in a hotel room. The RCMP responded, and found three men and two women in addition to the female victim.

The police learned that the suspects allegedly tried to kidnap a couple from their home, and demanded valuables and cash from them. The man escaped, but the woman was taken to the hotel room and assaulted.

Christopher Hermkens, 24, from Edmonton, Gordon Howard, 24, from Lloydminster, Traci Love, 41, from Lloydminster, Herbert McCullough, 26, of Lone Rock, and Jussara Junk, 22, from Edmonton are all facing a minimum of 16 charges.  These charges include; Robbery, Extortion, Kidnapping, Utter Threats, and Assault.
