Lloydminster Bobcats look for scoring improvement

The Lloydminster Bobcats are looking for scoring improvements after the addition of new players.

It’s been a busy week for the Bobcats as they sign Ty Mosimann and defenceman Mason Waite and trade for Drew Warkentine. Head Coach and General Manager of the Lloydminster Bobcats Travis Clayton says the team is looking to improve after a 2017-2018 season that saw them near the bottom of the league in scoring.

“For us to compete with the higher end teams we have to go out and add scoring. You know adding a puck moving d-man like Mason Waite and adding Drew Warkentine and Ty Mosimann who are both high scoring guys, it’s going to help us do that.”

The Bobcats are losing three players from last years team including Kobe Walker who was leading the team in points. Clayton says the team will still be looking to add talent before the start of the regular season.

“We’re going to be having our summer camp here July sixth, seventh and eighth at the Multiplex. We’re going to have some high prospects in town and just gives us a good chance to look at them.”
