Visitors of the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds will now be able to use free wi-fi at the facility.

The exhibition has partnered with SaskTel to provide select wi-fi to customers, businesses and residents who frequently use the building. Director of Lloyd Ex Bill Earl says the number of people requiring internet for functions is growing daily.

“Today technology is running basically 90 per cent of what we do here. Almost everything has some form of a requirement of the internet and this is what’s going o provide it.”

Communication Manager for SaskTel Greg Jacobs says the internet speed will vary depending on the number of users at one time.

“The network that was built here took into consideration the volume of people that would be here, as well as the size of the facility. It’s built to meet those expectations, meet those demands of this facility.”

Lloydminster MLA Colleen Young says providing connectivity is important for businesses coming to the city.

“As we know the Lloydminster Exhibition Agriculture Association bring in numerous events, large events in our community such as the colonial fair that’s going on right now, but as well as the oil show and our booths at Christmas time and our Christmas fair shows things like that.”

The wi-fi password will be posted around the building for people to connect.
