Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Lloydminster region as temperatures are expected to reach 29 degrees or above.
The increased temperatures will begin Monday and continue into Tuesday with a low-pressure system moving through Alberta on Wednesday to bring cooler temperatures and scattered showers.
Residents in the affected areas are being advised to protect themselves from the heat by drinking plenty of water, taking breaks from the heat and not leaving any children or pets in vehicles.
