Startup Lloydminster has seen an increase in businesses coming to them for support after rebranding.
The organization was previously known as the Regional Business Accelerator but decided to join a national network in March to offer more resources for business development in the community. Executive Director Tess Wack says they have seen an increased number of inquiries and businesses they’re supporting.
“People are seeming to want to diversify their income a little bit so they’re maybe having some side hustles and stuff like that. Lloydminster is a very entrepreneurial community and it’s great that we’re here to support all of those entrepreneurs.”
The organization is continuing to offer resources such as business coaching and mentorship. Wack says the coaching is a great resource for entrepreneurs to get a clear picture on the things they’re working on or things they haven’t thought of in terms of growing their business.
Wack says she wants people to know that they support businesses in all stages, not just the startup phase.
“We still support existing businesses. If you’re in business and you’re wanting to maybe expand, you’re looking to pivot a bit switch things up, maybe you’re looking to generate more of a profit, succession planning any of those things we also support with too.”
