Intricate Group raises money for Salvation Army

The Intricate Group raises money with a BBQ event where all proceeds go to the local Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family program.

The Adopt-a-Family program runs every year around the Christmas season to help families in need. Automation specialist for Intricate Group Trevor Green says this is the second year the company has joined in on the program.

“Last year we were able to adopt two families and we just went with cash donations. This year we will also do cash donations but we also did the barbeque to have a little more community involvement.”

The BBQ on Thursday raised $1,500 already which is up from the $1,200 donated last year. Green explains that the Salvation Army splits up the money raised to a certain amount of families so they can give them gifts during the holiday season.

“We got two families assigned to us,  a list of grocery items to buy and the types to gifts to buy for the children for the families. We go out and get the stuff, package it and bring it to the Salvation Army and distribute it from there.”
