Six weeks until the start of the Lloydminster Bandits season and their home schedule has been released.
The team will play their home opener on September 29 against Onion Lake at the Centennial Civic Centre, which is their only home game for the month. October is set to be busier with four home games, three will be played in November, including a rematch with the Killam Wheat Kings who the team lost to in the playoffs last season.
Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Early says they’re pushing for the playoffs once again.
“The last two years we’ve gotten to the playoffs and were bounced in the first round. Last year especially if we would have got a bounce our way, especially in game two in overtime if we win that it’s probably a different outcome.”
The team is stilling working out their final roster and the final cuts will be made after their main camp starting September 7.
“As a GM [General Manager] I want to put forth the best team that we got. As far as I’m concerned I have 23 spots to fill and guys that want to win and want to be here those are the guys that are going to fill those spots,” says Early.
The camp will run until September 9, which then Early will cut the team from 30 players to 25 players for the season. The regular season will start on September 28.
