Bud Miller Park amphitheatre work underway

Rehabilitation work has started on the amphitheatre at Bud Miller Park.

The work began at the start of the week and involves the removal of the existing wood, along with the stone seating area. The seating will be replaced with a concrete structure that is more resilient. The renovations will also involve improving accessibility and viewing options for people with disabilities.

“The Amphitheatre has been a landmark outdoor venue in our community for nearly 30 years, but in recent years it has begun to show signs of deterioration,” said Manager of Building Maintenance, Peter McHugh. “The work being completed this summer and fall will ensure this prized community jewel will continue to accommodate outdoor events long into the future.”

The last part of the project includes replacing the deck boards and completing electrical upgrades to meet current codes. The work will involve heavy equipment and therefore has been temporarily fenced off for the safety of residents.

The rehabilitation project is expected to be completed by mid-October.
