North Battleford RCMP arrest serving prisoner for break and enter

A serving prisoner has been arrested by North Battleford RCMP for an alleged break and enter and robbery near Edam.

In January, police say three people wearing black masks broke into a home and stole various items. A woman, man and youth were home during the invasion but were not injured.

A 24-year old serving time at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre was arrested Friday as a result of the incident. He is facing charges that include the use of a firearm in a careless manner, discharge a firearm while being reckless and forcible confinement.

The suspect appeared in court in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday and Wednesday.

The incident is still being investigated and anyone with information is being asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
