UPDATE: Wainwright main gas line shut down

Update 3 ( November 3, 2018 12:00 pm): Wainwright says services have been lost in some homes due to a disruption in the temporary gas supply, crews are identifying the homes. More trucks have arrived with supplementary gas supply. The Town asks for residents to limit the usage of natural gas. 

UPDATE 2: The first truck supplying gas and pressurizing the system arrived town Tuesday night. Starting at 8 am Wednesday, Wainwright gasfitters will be going door to door once services are restored to relight appliances. If you haven’t been relit by 3 pm, phone the Town Office at 780-842-3381. The Town is asking for information on availability if you won’t be home by emailing [email protected]. Crews are expected to be relighting until 10 pm.

UPDATE: Wainwright gasfitters are going door to door as soon as services are restored to relight appliances. Peace Memorial Multiplex and Communiplex will remain open for regular activities as long as its safe. The PMM concession will be closed.


The main gas feed in Wainwright has been shut down by ATCO due to a leak. Right now the Town doesn’t have a gas supply, all gas appliances including hot water will be affected.

Wainwright is looking for an alternative gas supply until repairs are completed. Updates will be provided upon as they come in.
