Lloydminster begins bi-weekly organic collection

Lloydminster begins annual bi-weekly organics collection on November 12. According to the City, there is an 80% decrease in curbside organics collection during the winter. The Senior Manager of Waste Services Karen Dela Rosa says due to the success of the program in 2017, the productivity of the program will continue.

“We are proud of the 13,400 tonnes diverted from the landfill and encourage residents to continue the great effort by using their organics cart. This schedule adjustment aims to increase efficiency with minimal impact to services.”

Money leftover due to the annual collection will go towards organics processing. Weekly organics collection will restart in the spring.
