The City of Lloydminster is asking residents to avoid walking on frozen retention lakes this winter.
In a news release, The City says warning signs are posted near all lakes asking residents to stay off the ice. Precautions should be taken when around the lakes to make sure children and pets are at a safe distance from the bodies of water. The thickness of the lakes are subject to change during the winter months.
The City says they will notify the public when specific ice surfaces are available for families to use.
