Integration with Archie Miller Arena, Outdoor Pool possible for Martin Browne Lot

The City is contemplating what could be done with the area of the shut-down Martin Browne School.

Lloydminster got the lot and the school building in a land swap agreement with the Lloydminster Public School Division in 2016. LPSD received a 6.92-acre lot in the Saskatchewan side of Lloydminster. The trade was equal as both parcels of land were valued at $1.6 million.

Community Services Development Executive Manager Don Stang said in a statement that while The City is still determining what to do with the land, the school building has outlived its lifespan and will be torn down sometime in the new year.

He adds that over the next few months they will be working on an area concept plan that would see how the area could be “harmonized” with the Archie Miller Arena and the Lloydminster Outdoor Pool.
