City welcomes new commander of RCMP Detachment

The city of Lloydminster is welcoming Staff Sergeant Lee Brachmann as the new commander of the RCMP Detachment.

Staff Sgt. Brachmann brings over 14 years of experience, including working as the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) for Eastern Alberta District and the commander of the St. Paul and Killam Detachments.

Brachmann admits that while he’s still only getting his feet wet, he’s very excited to work with members of the detachment and the community.

“As the new Detachment Commander here in Lloydminster, I want to get out and be involved in the community, during work and on my personal time as well,” says Brachmann. “I believe that community involvement is an important aspect of policing, and being involved and hearing what people have to say, and getting to know the community.”

Brachmann says the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment has a long history of service. As the new commander, Brachmann has a lot that he’s looking forward to.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the members and employees here at the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment, and working with our partners in the community,” says Brachmann. “To work through any issues pertaining to criminal occurrences, or crime trends, to ensure we’re proactively dealing with issues as they arise.”

Brachmann admits that the detachment will be setting its priorities, and will be looking to the public for input on what the community’s primary concerns are. Brachmann replaces Inspector Neill Pearson who transferred to Edmonton earlier this year.
