Lloydminster man faces various charges after multiple vehicle thefts

RCMP have charged 26-year-old Russell Reader of Lloydminster after three different vehicles were stolen in Biggar. The vehicle thefts began on Tuesday after Biggar RCMP received reports of a missing vehicle, two more vehicles were reported stolen in Biggar shortly after.

Police say officers of Biggar Detachment, Rosetown Detachment and RCMP Combined Traffic Services located the vehicle in Zealandia. Reader fled on foot after the vehicle was stopped, he was eventually found by an RCMP Police Service Dog.

Reader faces eight different charges including theft of a motor vehicle and Obstruct a Peace Officer. Reader is currently in custody and makes his first appearance in Provincial Court at North Battleford on December 12, 2018.
