UPDATE: Lloyd Mall resumes normal business hours after bomb threat

 UPDATE (2:45pm): RCMP says three schools were under hold and secure during the incident.

UPDATE (1:39 pm): Lloyd Mall has confirmed on Facebook that an all clear notification has been issued. The facility will resume normal business operations.

UPDATE: RCMP has confirmed that a bomb threat was called in around 10:15 AM at the Lloydminster Mall. RCMP asks that all managers within the mall contact police at 780-808-8400 in reference to their store.

The Lloydminster Fire Department is also on scene to help block off the area. Constable Grant Kirzinger says two schools have been placed under a hold and secure in order to ensure safety.

Constable Grant Kirzinger says RCMP have evacuated Lloyd Mall and set up a containment zone due to a safety concern.

“Lloydminster RCMP are asking people to not attend the Lloydminster Mall until further direction has been provided.”

The incident happened around 10:25 AM Friday. Kirzinger says police have the situation under control to ensure the safety of residents and the neighbouring residential and school areas.

RCMP are currently on scene. The story will be updated as more information comes out.
