Vehicle stolen from Lloyd involved in St. Paul County chase

A vehicle stolen from Lloydminster was involved in a short chase in St. Paul County on Decmber 17. The Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU) and members of the St. Paul RCMP were investigating in Saddle Lake when the stolen vehicle fled from them at high speed.

An EADRCRU member was able to disable the vehicle with by deflating the tires off of Township Road 592 and all three inside were arrested by EADRCRU and St. Paul RCMP.

Rayburn Jackson (45) of Saddle Lake was the driver of the vehicle and was already wanted in connection with a “Chop Shop” operation. He’s been wanted with multiple counts of possession of property obtained by crime, flight from police and driving while prohibited.

Jackson’s new charges include trafficking stolen property, flight from police, dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance and failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance.

Kenneth Steinhauer (50) and Raven Berland (19) of Saddle Lake were also charged with several offences, including flight from police, dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance.

All three males were released by a Justice following a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in court on January 10 in St Paul. This matter is now before the courts and no further information will be provided.
