The City of North Battleford and the RM of North Battleford No. 437 have yet to reach an agreement for full fire services in the municipality.
According to a recent release, The City says the fire department provided the RM with fire and rescue services during a five year agreement. The agreement ended on December 31,2018 with no arrangements moving forward for 2019.
North Battleford says they have offered to provide service to the RM until the end of February on an on-call basis. This timeline is so that the RM has time for discussion on the matter or to provide alternative firefighting services for residents or commercial properties if an agreement is not signed.
North Battleford is reminding RM residents and business that a disruption in fire service and property insurance may occur by the end of February if alternative options are sought out.
